Rashid wins title at Northern India junior golf

Delhi lad Rashid Khan emerged champion in the category A of the Lalit Suri Northern India Junior Sub-Junior Golf Championship at the Army Golf Course here Friday.
Rashid overcame a fighting Chikkarangappa by the 16th hole but then almost gave it up with a double bogey on the 17th and a bogey on the 18th. However his 6-shot cushion saved the day for the Delhi lad.
Rashid with a final round of 1-under 71 finished with an aggregate of 4-under 284 to complete a back to back victory after his win at the Delhi Golf Club last week.
'I am thrilled to win back to back titles,' said an excited Rashid. 'Chikka played well but I was determined to win. Excepting the last two holes, everything about my game was working quite well,' he added.
Bangalore lad Chikkarangappa who submitted the day's best card of 69 had to be content with second place. However he had the solace of winning the Category `B' title. Vicky Sharma finished third at 295 while Kanishk Madan was fourth at 297.
