Inflation rate blows out in Iran
India's News.Net Saturday 5th July, 2008
Iran's inflation rate, which has provoked intense criticism of the government, reached 26 percent in June.
The Iran central bank has revealed inflation reached 26.4 percent compared with the same month a year ago.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been blamed for the inflation by ploughing huge amounts of cash into the economy to fund local infrastructure projects.
Ahmadinejad was elected in 2005 on a platform of allowing the poor a share in the country's massive oil wealth.

Its not just Iran
Inflation is blowing out everywhere, particularly in all the countries in the Middle East, but all in Europe, the UK and of course the USA. Inflation is not peculiar to Iran.

World economy is in bad circumstance right now. Everyone is suffering. Irans policy of pouring money into local infrastucture policy is a very good strategy, one, because it leaves no one at the bottom without and two, because it literally defeats the strategy of sanctions. He can withstand more too. Irans bank has been questioned again, therefore the consistent inflation rates going up. Join the rest of the world.
