Rahul exhorts Madhya Pradesh Congress leaders to work together
India's News.Net Saturday 5th July, 2008 (IANS)
Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi Saturday exhorted party leaders in Madhya Pradesh to work together to 'expose' the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Interacting with state Congress office-bearers and district presidents, Gandhi said the leaders in top positions should inspire the workers instead of sitting in the air conditioned rooms and expecting the cadres to do everything at the grassroots level.
He also assured them of full cooperation from the party's central unit and asked them about their expectations from the party's top leadership.
Gandhi, the MP from Amethi, also discussed with them issues to be taken up during the assembly elections in the state due by November.
State Congress leaders including president Suresh Pachouri and former president Subhash Yadav conveyed to Gandhi that corruption during the BJP regime, decline in law and order and spread of communalism were the main issues that need to be raised in the election campaign.
