Telecom company says staff accessed Obama phone
India's News.Net Friday 21st November, 2008
The Verizon Wireless company in the US has revealed that Verizon employees accessed records for one of Barack Obama’s phones during the election campaign.
Verizon Wireless executives have informed the Obama transition team that the telephone number involved had not been active for several months.
CNN has reported that the Verizon employees were only able to get phone numbers of calls to or from the phone but no information on Obama's e-mail or voice mail.
Verizon executives say the employees who accessed the records for anything other than legitimate business purposes will now be disciplined or have their employment terminated.
