Ganguly peps up football side Chirag United
India's News.Net Friday 21st November, 2008 (IANS)
Sourav Ganguly, who retired from international cricket early this month, Friday gave a pep talk to I-league soccer side Chirag United.
Ganguly, who is the brand ambassador of Chirag Computers, came to the side's dressing room before their match against Mumbai FC and talked to the players.
Chirag sources said the former Indian cricket captain spoke about his days of struggle after being dropped from the national team and the resilience and mental strength that saw him through the troubled times and enabled him return to the big league.
Ganguly's encouraging words seemed to have had the desired effect on the Chirag players, who put up a fine performance to hold Mumbai FC 1-1.
