Khadi products lure visitors at Trade Fair in Delhi
India's News.Net Saturday 22nd November, 2008 (ANI)
New Delhi, Nov 22 : Khadi stall at the ongoing 'India International Trade Fair 'in New Delhi is making brisk business by selling products made from fabrics produced in villages.
Exhibitors from various parts of the country have put up stalls to display various khadi items like shirts, sarees, bags and soaps.
The exhibitors are happy being a part of the fair as they are earning good revenue.
"I have come here for the first time. Cotton Khadi shirts are selling well. We have designed new patterns in Khadi shirts, ladies suits, ladies tops and kurta-pajama. We have good designs. I feel good about coming here. The sale is very good," said Anuman Prasad, an exhibitor, Dausa, Rajasthan.
According to Anumeha Gupta, an exhibitor from Mumbai, the khadi products already have a market for themselves, which makes it easier for the sellers to sell their products everywhere.
"Customers' response is good. People are convinced about the quality and customers are quite educated in Delhi. I can say they are quite discerning, they ask about the actual use of the product and a lot of things. They are no longer too price conscious," she added.
A variety of khadi products displayed on stalls have caught the fancy of visitors with their uniqueness and eco-friendly nature.
"Khadi products are always good. I buy khadi products otherwise also and it's really very good," said Savita, a visitor.
The fair provides a platform for trade promotion and facilitates interaction between close to 7,500 national and international business persons and organisations.
