Infosys net up 33 percent in third quarter

Infosys Technologies Ltd. has posted net profit of Rs.16.41 billion (Rs.1,641 crore) for the third quarter (October-December) of this fiscal (2008-09), registering 33.3 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth and 14.6 percent sequentially under the Indian accounting system.
In a notification to the stock exchanges here Tuesday, the IT bellwether said its consolidated revenue for the quarter under review (Q3) was Rs.57.86 billion (Rs.5,786 crore), posting 35.5 percent YoY growth and 6.8 percent sequentially under the Indian accounting system.
Under the international financial reporting standards (IFRS), net income increased by around 6.5 percent YoY to $330 million and consolidated income by eight percent YoY to $1.17 billion for the quarter under review.
