Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Nov 8 (ANI): After days of blockade due to heavy snowfall, Manali-Leh Highway re-opened on Wednesday following the snow clearing operation by Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
The BRO ploughed up several feet thick snow at Rohtang pass.
Incessant snowfall in various mountain passes in the state had brought vehicular traffic to a standstill.
Last week, around 70 people were rescued from the Lahaul-Spiti valley after the Manali-Leh Highway was blocked.
The mercury dipped in various parts of the state following the heavy snowfall. In the past few days, Lahaul and Spiti recorded the lowest temperature in the state at -2.1 degree Celsius, while the temperature in Kalpa touched -0.6 degree Celsius.
